how to eat and train like an angel? Victoria’s Secret models nutrition and workout tips

The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show has returned with its stunning lingerie sets and beautiful models. Of course, everyone has had and still has different opinions about the brand and its message.

Personally, I’ve always looked at the models as a source of motivation. I found — and still find — their determination to be incredible. The way they are able to train so seriously and follow strict diets in order to reach their goals is admirable.

I’ve been following the Fashion Shows with interest since I was about 12–14 years old, watching in awe as Doutzen Kroes, Adriana Lima, or Bella Hadid walked the runway. Back then, of course, I had no idea how much work went into those few minutes on the catwalk — how many weeks of training, how many carefully counted calories, how much perseverance and mindfulness it all required.

The show made me curious once again about how they actually prepare for the runway, so I ended up doing a little digging into how each Angel gets her body ready. It turns out, their approach to fitness and nutrition isn’t just about looking good for those few minutes on the catwalk — it’s a whole lifestyle.

What surprised me most is that the “Victoria’s Secret diet” isn’t some crazy crash diet or endless juice cleanse. It’s not about starving or cutting out entire food groups. Instead, it’s all about balance — whole foods, smart portions, and listening to your body. They focus on fueling themselves with the right nutrients to stay strong, energized, and confident. The workouts are intense, for sure, but also really intentional. Lots of strength training, boxing, Pilates, and a mix of cardio to keep things interesting. It’s not about shrinking yourself — it’s about becoming your strongest, most powerful version.

That mindset shift really stuck with me.Even though I know there’s a whole team behind the scenes helping them get runway-ready — trainers, nutritionists, glam squads — I still think their discipline and drive are super inspiring. It made me reflect on how much consistency and self-care actually go into feeling your best, not just looking a certain way.

Models eat enough protein to maintain their toned muscles. Carbohydrates aren’t avoided either—they provide steady energy and are less likely to cause blood sugar spikes. Many of us are afraid of fats, but they’re essential to a healthy diet. Healthy fats, like those found in avocados and nuts, help us feel full and support overall well-being.

Whole foods are a key part of the Victoria’s Secret meal plan because they’re packed with high-quality nutrients and don’t come with all the additives and preservatives you find in processed foods. Models usually avoid processed foods, sugars, and artificial ingredients. Instead, the focus is on whole foods—fresh fruits, veggies, whole grains, and lean proteins. It keeps their bodies fueled and helps cut out anything unnecessary.

For me, one of the most important elements of balanced eating is how much I eat. I never would have thought that something like plate size could influence the amount of food I consume this much. But it makes perfect sense—the bigger the plate, the more we tend to eat.

So my first tip is to use a small plate, serve yourself small portions and eat at regular times. As I’ve already mentioned, it’s key to have several small meals throughout the day. This way, it’s easier to avoid binge eating or overeating.

Drink yourself beautiful! I’m not kidding, hydration is a key part of a healthy and balanced lifestyle. Models usually aim for at least 2–3 liters of water a day. Many also drink herbal teas, green tea, or lemon water, which can help with digestion, hydration, and reducing bloating.

How to work out

The workouts are intense, but they’re also really purposeful. Strength training, boxing, Pilates, and a mix of cardio keep things interesting. Even though I’m not a Victoria’s Secret model, just a regular girly, I do yoga once a week, running three times, and Pilates three times a week. It’s not about shrinking yourself—it’s about becoming your strongest, most powerful version. Each workout challenges different muscles and helps me feel both physically and mentally strong.
