my favorite cocktail recipes that you also need to try | new year’s eve edition

This year i’ve decided to host a New Year’s Eve party, this means planning on decorations, searching for inspo on Pinterest, looking up some nice recipes to make most importantly: decide on what drinks you’ll make for your beloved guests (because we are not playing with the average beer and wine combo,we’re giving at our all).

It all sounds fun until you actually have to make everything, then comes procastrination.Oh i’ll do it late,i’ll do it when this and this will happen.NO. Girl, put yourself together and start doing it please! Then, the sudden burst of energy comes and productivity boosts.Et voilΓ‘! You’re done with making all the delicious dishes and fine drinks for the social gathering of the year.

I love to take care of my family and friends,it makes my heart pour when they’re enjoying the food i’ve cooked for them.Even if it’s hard to admint but i’m a caregiver at my heart. However, i don’t like to spend much time in the kitchen or struggle with complicated recipes. That’s why I’m sharing with you my personal favorite alcoholic drinks recipes that are 100% aesthetic, delicous and easy-to-make.

Classic Mojito

We are not sleeping on classical ones! Starting with a very simple candidate: Mojito. It’s considered as a summer drink but trust me,it’s just good in winter as in summer. But who i am to tell you what to drink and when…Anyway, if in your heart is always summer too then don’t be afraid to make some Mojitos. The combo of mint and lime make this a super refreshing drink while not being too strong.Yup, it’s perfect for those who has low alcohol tolerance πŸ™‚ but please be careful.

  • 10 fresh mint leaves
  • 1 lime
  • 2 oz/60 ml white rum
  • 1 oz/30 ml simple syrup
  • soda
  1. Fill the glass about 2/3 to 3/4 with ice
  2. Toss the mint leaves and 2 slices of lime into a glass.
  3. Add sugar and gently smash it all together.
  4. Add the remaining 2 slices of lime.
  5. Pour in the white rum.
  6. Top it with soda.

Size of glass: 10–12 oz (300–350 ml)

Pomegranate Fizz

Fizz cocktails are usually made with a base spirit, fresh citrus juice and soda will give them the fizzy finish. You can basically make a fizz cocktail from every citrus fruit. My choice for the festive times is a lovely Pomegranate Fizz, not too sweet and not too sour. It’s deep ruby color making this the perfect instagram feed compatible drink. It’s also one of the easiest drinks you can make.Peeling the pomegranate may take more time than making the actual drink.

  • 2 oz/60 ml pomegranate juice
  • 1 oz/30 ml vodka
  • Champagne or prosecco
  • Pomegranate seeds
  1. Fill the glass about half to 2/3 with ice
  2. Shake pomegranate juice and vodka with ice.
  3. Pour into a glass and top with Champagne.
  4. As for decor, sprinkle a few pomegranate seeds in the glass.

Size of glass: 10–12 oz (300–350 ml)

Cranberry Moscow Mule

A twist on the classic mule, the festive version is made with cranberry juice. At first I highly doubted that this could work-and on mules in general-but i gave it a try and it turned out to be good. One thing about mules is that how simple it’s to make them: it’s basically pour-stir-sip.That’s why i love it! Extra aesthetic points if you’re serving them in frozen copper mugs.

  • 2 oz/60 ml vodka
  • Β½ oz(15 ml) lime juice
  • 2 oz(60 ml) cranberry juice
  • About 4 oz (120 ml) Ginger beer
  • Fresh cranberries and lime slices
  1. Fill the mug full with ice
  2. Add vodka, lime juice, and cranberry juice to the copper mug
  3. Top with ginger beer and stir.
  4. Use fresh cranberries and lime slices for decor.

Size of glass: 12–16 oz ( 350–475 ml)

Strawberry Gin Fizz

If you’re celebrating NYE with your girlies then Strawberry Gin Fizz should be your go to cocktail! For this one I like to use Beefeater’s Pink Gin which is already flavored with strawberries. It’s tasty and the pink color makes this the ultimate girl-drink in my opinion πŸ™‚ This one is also a versatile recipe, you can replace the strawberries with raspberries or blueberries too.But for now i’ve decided to go on with the strawberry version.

  • 2 oz (60 ml) gin
  • 1 oz (30 ml) lemon juice
  • 1 oz (30 ml) simple syrup
  • Strawberries
  • Soda
  1. Fill the glass about 2/3 with ice.
  2. Muddle the strawberries in a shaker or a glass.
  3. Pour in the gin and lemon juice.
  4. Add some ice and shake it again.
  5. Pour the mix into a glass, add some ice and top with soda.
  6. Use a couple of strawberries as decor.

Size of glass: 10–12 oz ( 300–350 ml)

Citrus Sangria

For me there’s no Christmas holidays without Sangria.Usually,i’m not the fan of red wines, but for a Sangria i’m making an exeption. It’s also not that concentrated as if you’re drinking 2 dl of pure red wine.Oranges, blood oranges and grapefruit make this whole a mix a lighter, more enjoyable alcoholic drink. It’s like you don’t even notice you’re drinking alcohol. Bonus point that it really requires minimal effort but very well looks put together. You can simply make it in a punch bowl, and let everyone serve themselves πŸ™‚

  • 1 bottle red wine
  • 1 orange, sliced
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 1 lime, sliced
  • 1 oz (30 ml) triple sec
  • 1 oz (30 ml) brandy
  1. Pour in the red wine into a punch bowl or pitcher.
  2. Add triple sec and brandy, then stir it all together.
  3. Toss in the sliced orange, lemon and lime.
  4. Stir and refrigerate for a few hours, this will help the flavours to mingle.

Size of glass: 6–8 oz (180–240 ml) if you’re serving it in individual glasses, while punch bowls holds around 32 oz (1 liter) of sangria.

Rosemary Gin Tonic

Gin tonic is my go-to-drink whenever we go out or simply having a gahtering with friends. So it wasn’t even a question to share my favorite recipe with you all.Should I post the original one or should i add something on? That were the only questions in my head.I decided to add some twist to it,because when to make special drinks if not for New Year’s Eve? So the secret ingredient is ROSEMARY.Yes,you’ve heard right.Adding on rosemary will give a unique, unexpected flavor to the drink yet still familiar enough to be a crowd-pleaser.So,this is a drink everyone will remember (hopefully in a good way)

  • Lime,lemon
  • 2 oz (60 ml) gin
  • 4 oz (120 ml) tonic water
  • 1 sprig rosemary
  1. Fill a glass full with ice
  2. Then add the gin.
  3. Top with tonic water and stir.
  4. Add slices of lemon and lime to make this even better.

Size of glass: 10–12 oz (300–350 ml)
