what’s the difference between the law of assumption vs. the law of attraction?

When it comes to manifestation, there are many methods and approaches you can explore. Two of the most popular concepts are the Law of Assumption and the Law of Attraction. While both focus on the process of manifesting desires, their principles and how they function are different. In his article we will compare these two concepts and demonstrate how they can shape our reality.

The Law of Assumption, introduced by Neville Goddard, is based on the idea that our reality is shaped by our thoughts and beliefs. The core principle is to assume that what you desire is already present in your life and live as if it’s your reality. This, in turn, helps manifest your desires into existence. The essence of this law is that what you assume to be true becomes your reality. For example, if you assume you are successful, your actions and decisions will align with that belief, ultimately manifesting success. What we believe or assume about ourselves shapes our actions, which, in turn, influences our circumstances.Associating positive emotions with your goals helps them become more ingrained in your subconscious. Positive affirmations and even meditation can reinforce this, helping you feel that the desired state is real.Visualize that you have already achieved your goals, and immerse yourself in the feelings of that success. Visualization techniques are effective tools to practice this, making the imagined outcome feel more real.

Our assumptions deeply affect our subconscious. When we experience a new state or situation in our mind as real, our subconscious accepts it and begins to shape our environment to match this internal belief. This is why inner work is essential to manifesting our desires.

The Law of Assumption isn’t just about reaching a goal but about identifying with the person who has already achieved that goal. You must act and think as if you’ve already reached your desired state. This internal alignment is key to shaping external circumstances to match your internal state.Every thought we treat as reality impacts our life. Understanding that we are constantly assuming something—whether consciously or unconsciously—makes us realize how much control we have over shaping our own reality. It’s important to pay attention to what we assume about the world, our future, and ourselves.

According to the Law of Attraction, energy attracts energy. This means that our thoughts and emotions have specific vibrational frequencies that attract similar vibrations. And if you’re on the same vibrational level as your goals, you’re going to get them.Positive thoughts generate high, positive vibrations, while negative thoughts produce low, negative vibrations. Similar attracts similar, so whatever frequency we’re vibrating at will attract similar frequencies. It’s important to keep ourselves in a positive, high-vibrational state to attract high-vibrational outcomes into our lives. This is why positive thinking plays such a key role in the Law of Attraction. The Law of Attraction doesn’t just focus on thoughts. Taking the first step toward your goals is more important than you’d thought. Thought must be combined with action to manifest the desired outcome.

In reality, very little separates the Law of Attraction from the Law of Assumption—there are many similarities between them. It’s not a matter of one being better than the other. Both are tools for personal development and shaping your reality. The choice of which technique works best for you depends on your personal preference. You can even use both methods together, as they complement each other perfectly.Imagine you already assume your desired state, raise your vibrational frequency, and take the first step toward your goals. This creates the perfect combination for manifesting your dreams.

Manifesting with the Law of Assumption

Honestly, the Law of Assumption works better for me than the Law of Attraction. For me, it’s important that manifestation leaves some sort of trace, so to speak, something visible. Of course, there are times when I do attract things, and it works that way too. Regardless of which method you use, it’s very important to learn to listen to yourself and to your intuition. For example, I usually operate by deciding on something, and if it’s aligned with me, the Universe sends me some kind of signal to take action. I perceive this signal and take the first step toward realizing my desires. From there, the higher powers take over again, guiding me gently at times and more strongly at others.

Here’s how i do it:

  1. Take the time to vividly imagine the state you wish to achieve. Feel the desired situation or outcome as if you’re already living it. I often create playlists that I can listen to while getting into that imagined state. Feel free to dance along too, it helps you connect even deeper!
  2. Once I’ve raised my vibration, the creation process begins. I imagine how I feel now that my desire has been fulfilled. How do I carry myself? How am I feeling?
  3. The emphasis is on how I feel. Most of the time, it’s enough for me to simply listen to the right music, and I immediately find myself in the desired state. After that, a little meditation and creating a vision board come next.
  4. The most important step is letting go. You don’t have to manifest every day. After all, think about it—if you’re already living with the love of your life, you don’t think about it every day because it’s already your reality
